doubts about the formulation used

Good afternoon, I have three questions.
1) Which formulation is used in the compositional module: IMPEC, IMPSAT or FIM = totally implicit?
2) What formulation would be used in the black oil module: IMPES, SEQ or FIM?
3) Is CPR = constrained pressure residual used in mrst?

Hi Gabriel,

Thank you for reaching out to us. To answer your questions:

1. The compositional module uses a fully implicit method (FIM) by default.
2. The black-oil module is also set up to use FIM. However, you can use functionality from the sequential module to override this and set up either a sequential (SEQ) or a sequential fully implicit (SFI) method as well.
3. MRST offers constrained pressure residual solvers, implemented either natively in MATLAB or via the AMGCL library. Depending upon how you set up your model and its size, the simulator framework may pick this solver for you automatically, but to be sure that a CPR solver is used, you may need to specify it explicitly yourself.
