Answer: Probably because Magix acquired SF from Sony updated it and knew that Sam users would probably not buy it, so they bundled it for free with Sam ProX3 Suite. It is not linked to Sam but it has its usefulness.
I use Magix Audio & Music Lab for cleaning and mastering the audio for videos. AML is attached as the External Audio Editor in Video Pro X. This can be changed to another one, like Soundforge, for cleaning a file for a video. I haven't got my head around SF yet, so I continue with AML, which has features similar to those found in Sam C&R suite.
Hey guys, I felt the same until I saw in another related comment post about its uses and a link to the Groove 3 tutorial on it. The free access intro video tells lots about it. I watched the whole course today as I am a member of Groove 3.
Thanks gregrband. That's peaked my interest. I've actually committed to buying the upgrade. Now, at 114.99 it's a 'no brainer' for me, even if I never use Sound Forge! And Kraznet's tutorials on Samplitude Pro X3 indicate that the upgrade is very stable and worth having. You never know when a feature or plugin is exactly what you need to create something entirely new or fix a problem.
Forgive me but is that the Options menu in Samplitude Pro X3 (program preferences) or Soundforge 11 (options)? Because I simply can't find that "option" (i.e., "External Tools") in EITHER options menu? I'm old so maybe I missed it??
Oooops, I use the v11 menu style in my Pro X3, sorry for that... Anyway, I mean the Menu of Samplitude. Go to MENU "Options" of Samplitude. Take a look in this menu, at the botton you will see a link to External Tools. Click in this link and a window will open with intuitive functions! In this way you will link any programa you like to Samplitude, but I believe that Sound Forge and SpectraLayers are better optimized to this task.
In the Samplitude's default style, I believe that you will find this feature under "File" > "Program Preferences" OR in in the menu "File" > Program Settings" > "External Tools".
Thanks for pointing this out. It's actually called Program Preferences and I had forgotten that I had already made the link to SF and to Magix Audio & Music Lab, both of which work with Sam Pro X3. I think that I had tried it with Video Pro X without success, but I will try again.
Also, if you'll let me give you some advice, take a tour on all Samplitude's menus and submenus. Many smiles will be born on your faces.
Another interesting tip is the use of the right mouse button. Many extremely advanced Samplitude functions are accessed through this procedure. Out of curiosity, whenever you are navigating in buttons and functions of the program, try using the right mouse button.
In VPX, the external audio is under Program settings (shortcut Y), Folders. I changed mine from MusicEditor 3 to SF11. Right-clicking on an audio object in VPX should give you a selection on the menu to "Edit wave externally." Make sure that you have the audio on a separate tracks first. However, for some reason, the option is not always there for the audio portion of a video file. I have it on my desktop but not on my laptop. On my laptop, I have to do a mixdown and then right-click on the resulting wave file. SF11 opens but returns an error:
I tried using SF Audio Studio 12 (64bit) on my desktop but with MEP2018 and it works fine. So I guess the best that we can expect is that it will work in the next version of SF Pro (12), unless it works for you.
There is a feature in most Magix programs, like MEP and MusicMaker, to Share with each other. There is a menu button called Share which does not show up in VPX. In MEP, click on Share and there is a selection of other Magix programs to share with. I did a tutorial on going from MEP to MusicMaker and back. I have been after Magix to put the same feature in VPX as it simplifies the process.
After several years of using MEP and VPX, I am still finding new features by right-clicking in places where I never thought to right-click. The same holds for Sam, but Sam has so many more features, that it would take a year of Sundays to find them all.
One other point, you can link Samplitude and VPX in a master-slave relationship so that you can edit in both at the same time. When one starts playing, so does the other. This helps with dubbing and scoring a video. But, you need at least 2 screens.

Si has logrado grabar en mono significa que tu tarjeta m-audio est bien configurada y el programa la reconoce. Intenta crear una nueva pista estreo. Quizs te ayude el siguiente tutorial, es de sound forge para mac pero los mens son prcticamente iguales:

En el primer apartado explico como configurar y abrir pista, debes crear una pista estreo con las entradas 1/2 de tu tarjeta de sonido, espero que te sirva de ayuda.
