It was great riding with you on Saturday, much fun and good conversation. I'm going to ride the Randonneur 200 km on June 16th, and you were right, it starts at 7:00 am so I should be done by 5:00 pm at the latest. When is your event finished at Hub City Cycles? and the ride? I looked on your website and couldn't find it:(
Is it possible to tent in your back yard on the Friday and Saturday? If not I can stay at Living Ocean Campground where we usually camp.

Likewise, it was a great day! I wish I could join you on the 200km on the 16th - and then the 'Hill Pride Ride'. You're going to have legs of steel! Victoria's not going to know what to do with you at the Fondo :)
No problem with staying in the backyard Michael we'd love to have you stay over.
And the ride begins at 7pm. Hope you can make it!

Hey, so they have posted the times for Saturday's ride on the website. We were only 13 minutes behind the person who finished first. We coulda been contenders!! Oh well, fun was had by all, except maybe Allen:( Hope he's doing all right.
Not sure about legs of steel, but do feel much stronger then 4 months ago. After a while it feels weird not going for a ride.

Very interested, but not sure how I'm going to be feeling. To be honest I've never ridden over 100 km, so the 200 km on the 16th is a bit of a test. Then the Gran Fondo on June 23. If I feel like I can do it, I would love to.

Sooo, rode the Victoria Gran Fondo on Saturday. Had a great ride, though weather could have been better. Ended up riding with a strong group of 9 riders from Vancouver, so had support and someone to ride with. Finished in just over 11 hours. You can see photos etc on the Victoria Gran Fondo website.
Are you still thinking of riding the 300 Randonneur ride this weekend? I'd love to, but we are scrambling to get away for holidays on July 4th, and there is no way I can make it:( They offer it again in August, but you will be riding your way to Mexico? That would be a great trip.
Let me know what you are up to, and if there is anyway I can follow your trip south? FB?

Glad the ride in Vic went well. 11 hours! Thats amazing! - working over time! How was the recovery afterwords?
I have to work this weekend so will not be able to do the 300 unfortunately. But I've been getting in quite a few 100km rides in lately to stay in shape.

Recovery was better/faster then from the 200 km Randonneur ride that I did the weekend before. No leg cramps, just over all tired. But fun. Ended up riding with Bruce Spicer, who is the product manager for Brodie Bikes, pretty cool.
