Britta
I am not new to waking up in emergency rooms. Just ask my mother’s gray hairs and my extensive x-ray files. But waking up in the first aid room of the Ski Patrol Headquarters on Snowy Peak Mountain is new. And the hunky patrolman tending to the bump on my head makes me wonder if I hit it harder than I thought. He’s hot. Hot enough to melt all the snow on this mountain range and when he offers to find me a room for the night at the lodge, I take him up on it.
I shouldn’t go looking for him the next day, but I can’t help it. I need to know if he felt the same intense connection I felt when we touched. If I’m not careful, though, I might just need an EMT for my heart.

I’ve lived on this mountain my entire life and I’ve been with the Ski Patrol since the moment I graduated college. I’ve bandaged hundreds of attractive women, but I’ve never felt like I did the moment Britta Larsen opened her pretty blue eyes after her fall.
I’m a consummate professional. But something about her makes me go a step further, treat her a little different. And before I know it, I’m looking for her the next day desperate to see her again. I don’t mean to invite her back to my place over coffee, but when she takes me up on it, I’m not about to take it back. With any luck, I might just get her to stay forever.
