Mitsubishi Pajero Junior Automatic

I have a pajero mini with Automatic Transmission. I want to convert the auto transmission to manual as i have to travel to hilly areas of Azad Kashmir. Another reason is that there are no auto mechanics available in that area. But I don't want to be trapped in trouble if there is something wrong with manual transmission swap.
Kindly guide me that is it okay to convert auto to manual? Are there any drawbacks and bad effects of conversion?
converting auto mini into manual is not a difficult task....
you dont need any additional wiring or ecu.... rather your auto gear wiring and computer will be unmounted and retained as it is in vehicle for future re conversion.
Hii I'm also changing mitsubishi pajero jr auto to manual.... What i want to know is there is a safety starting when starting my car in automatic transmission.. For example You can't start it if you put it in D mode.... So when changing to manual transmission i can i disable this feature from the car
bro mini and junior pajero (1st gen) auto 3 speed transmission have very common computer card problem..oil change will not solve the problem even complete transmission assy wont either. usually changing comp transmission card will help.oil change should be done on time however.
last model of pajero junior was produced in 1998...even 2012 model mini pajero has auto matic rotry gear transmssion.. cvt was never introduced in this suv.any ATF-II kixx or zic can do the job.manual page.JPG941x660 89.9 KB
PRNDL func of your junior will be disabled automatically when mechanic will remove transmission assy and wiring connector connected to it. then you can start in neutral ... or any gear by pressing clutch..
just tell ur mechanic to not to remove wire harness or fly by wire system...may be you or somebody else install auto trans assy in future.
In case of junior you dont need to change differentials as well.
If any of you get it done successfully from some mechanic in Karachi, please report back. I am seriously considering this for my Lancer, the CVT is no doubt interesting on mine but I am a manual transmission lover.

I have similar problem with my Pajero mini XR-II and i want to convert it to manual transmission. The body type is H56A and has 4A30 SOHC non turbo engine with automatic transmission. I want to replace with 4A30 DOHC turbo engine complete with a manual transmission 5F. My question is. Do i need to change the ECU (computer box)? Can i use the same wiring (Harness)
