The Konry Lab http://www.northeastern.edu/konrylab/ is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our multidisciplinary project in Single Cell studies.

The project is conducted in collaboration with HMS and Tufts medical center.  The candidate should have a strong background in a bioengineering field such as microfluidics and a reasonable working knowledge of immunology.

Additional requirements include experience in: microfluidics design, fabrication and operation, bioassay development, Image analysis, cell culture and single cell analysis, strong writing skills, ability to multitask and mathematical modeling.

Dear single cell bio members, an immediate opening for a microscopy-oriented postdoctoral associate is available at Baylor College of Medicine:

The Mancini Lab within the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Baylor, and in conjunction with the Gulf Coast Consortium for Chemical Genomics (GCC-CG), has an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Associate to be a high content analysis-based project leader in the context of our long-running CPRIT-funded drug screening Center (www.TxSACT.org).  Under the auspices of the GCC-CG, the Texas Screening Alliance for Cancer Research is a CPRIT-Funded Core Facility focusing upon high throughput screening and testing of drug combinations.  The successful applicant will work with the screening team and co-directors to manage single cell-oriented projects designed to become high throughput screens (e.g., assay development), or also post screening efforts to better understand the biological implications of screening results.

Required:

  • PhD in modern molecular cell biology (or related field), with previous experience in cell culture, fluorescence microscopy, and immunofluorescent labeling.
  • The successful candidate will be an organized self-starter, work well in a research team context, and have excellent oral/written communication skills.

Any additional training on new instrumentation (deconvolution, confocal, super resolution, and high throughput microscopy) or image analysis software will be provided as needed.

Interested individuals should send a letter of interest with an accompanying CV by email to Michael A. Mancini, Ph.D., man...@bcm.edu

Sincerely,

Mike Manicni

Dear Single Cell colleagues,

We have 3 postdoctoral positions currently open in Dr. Xinghua Pan's laboratory at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB) of the Southern Medical University (SMU), which is also the Guangdong Province Key laboratory in Single Cell Omics, in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, China. The SMU is one of the top 5 independent medical universities in China, and its successful finding rate in the national grant (equivalent to R01 in USA) is 49% among these who submitted the proposals in the year 2016, comparing the average rate in the country is about 20-25%. In the past 3 years the SMU School of Basic Medical Sciences have published >10 high impact papers such as Cell, Nature Medicine, Nature Neuroscience, Leukemia, Blood, etc. We seek candidates with a solid wet-lab or dry-lab research background in molecular biology, or a associated biological field (cancer, stem cell, development, esp. hematopoietic system); a background with single cell biology is preferred but not a necessary, while a NGS background is a requirement. We have intensive medical resources (with 7 affiliated hospitals in Guangzhou) and academic research collaborations with the hospitals, cancer institute, stem cell center, and independent biotechnological companies.

Meanwhile we in the BMB department have 6 positions available for junior or senior faculty (which is of the talent program of the university level). The faculty will build his/her own independent team in the department. The start-up support provided by the university is competitive. If you have right candidate who are interested in the positions: postdoctoral or faculty, please contact me for more information.

Sincerely yours,
