CCL 2014 First Edition

Hi All,

We are excited to inform you all that the first edition of Century Cricket League 2014 will be organized by Wheeling Rangers in coordinance with Raging Tigers team.  League starting date is 04/19/2013(Tentative). Duration of the tournament would be around 6 – 8 Weeks depending on the no. of teams nominating.

The format of the game and rules are same as that as before (15 overs per side and T20 rules). We will have 2 matches on each day of weekend starting at 1:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Every game is played on the same ground(Century Park).



We will share the format,rules in a separate communication upon teams nominations.



League's registration details will be sent out soon after nominations are closed.


Captains meeting date will be held after the registration is closed.

Nominations are accepted till 3/31/2014.

Hi All,

 

We have total 8 teams confirmed for CCL 2014 first edition. Please find the team details as given below.

 

1) Schaumberg Stallions

2) WareWolves

3) Schaumberg Strikers

4) Raging Bulls

5) Team Xtreme

6) Wheeling Rangers

7) Raging Tigers Team 1

8) Raging Tigers Team 2

 

Tournament Format :

 

It's Two and half month tournament excluding long weekends.  Tournament Start date is 4/26.

 

It will be Round Robin League initially with each team playing with all other 7 teams participating in the tournament.

 

Top Four teams based on Points and Net Run Rate will be meeting in Semi Finals.

Top Two teams from the Semi Finals will be playing the final.

 

We will be sending out a meeting invite to all the Captain's in couple of days time to discuss in details about any questions and clarifications.

 

Changes in the Rules from previous year's are as given below to make more interesting.

 

1) Free Hit for all Foot No Balls only.

2) Wide for the overhead ball, all the times. Only Two bouncers are allowed per over.

3)  In case of tie in the points between two teams, preference to the team who won against the team during league phase. Then net run rate should be considered. In case of Triangle(if three or more teams has same points) , .net run rate will only be considered to decide the qualifier.

 

All other rules remain same as per previous year's standards.

 

Last year's Rule Book is attached in the mail as well. We are in the process of uploading the updated Rule Book soon in our Face Book page as the Face Book page updates are under process still.

 

Finally, the most important factor of the Tournament is the registration process.

 

As like last year's  last two editions, we are planning to reserve the ground for the tournament to avoid any inconvenience, time loss and for smooth sail for the entire tournament.  We already had discussions with Vernon Hills District Park and they are going to confirm us the availability of the ground by Monday, tomorrow. We need to pay the full amount upon confirmation as there are so many teams who are planning to book the ground and also from last two weeks we are finding it difficult to play in the ground due to many teams playing or practicing in the ground.

 

Considering all the factors, the registration fee for the tournament has been decided as $250 per team with reserved ground for the entire tournament.

 

We would like you all either send check or funds transfer by 4/13(last day) without fail.
