Hi All,

I am frequently getting Pg Connection timeout error in my application. I tried to fix it by upgrading the system memory, also updated the pg gem but the issue is still occurring. Anybody's help will be really appreciated.

(ActiveRecord::StatementInvalid) "PGError: server closed the connection unexpectedly\n\tThis probably means the server terminated abnormally\n\tbefore or while processing the request.\n: BEGIN"

Can you say more about what's going on? What kind of operation is it?

Is it possible you can shorten the required time by optimizing the statement in some way?

You may be able to change the timeout period, but that might not be a solution for you.

I wonder if, in addition to increasing the physical memory, you need to configure Postgres in some way?  That is, does it maybe have a maximum memory use setting that needs to be increased?
