Hi everyone,

I would like to give a quick shoutout for an initiative that I am
involved in. For a long time, there has been many people in Singapore
wanting to form a group where tech meets art. This initiative is known
as Hackerspace.SG. And what was a dream is now reality.

Hackerspace.SG [1] [2] has recently set up at 70A Bussorah Street!

We're a little community for creative thinkers. Artists. Engineers.
Designers. Musicians. Techies. Photographers. Writers. Hackers.

We're having our really awesome housewarming party at 70A Bussorah
Street [3] and we'd like to invite you, and your bunch of geek-loving
friends down for a little party!

The event's taking place on the 21st November at 6pm, held in
conjunction with the Barcamp2009 [4] Afterparty and we want you to
come!

Chat [5] with us online too.

Hope to see you there!

Your friendly neighbourhood hackers

btw Justin, congratulations on making this happen - was right impressed when I saw the write-up in the Straits Times last weekend! (and the fact it mentioned MakerBot - does Hackerspace SG have one yet, or is it one of the first projects to build one? ;-)

Yeah congrats to HS! From coffeeshop discussion after SRB to a venue
at Bussorah Street 2 months later... awesome. Thanks Paul for
initiating the idea of community pledges. :)

Indeed! I think the Hackerspace owes a lot to that very initial powwow
session =) Very big thanks to those who gave their time (till 1am!) to
help solidify the concept of the Hackerspace. Paul, Chris, and
especially Jason, who essentially kickstarted the community by setting
up the Facebook group, Google group and wiki.

Also, it's great that SRB will hold Hackerspace's first user group
meet up. I'm looking forward!
