what do you guys think for venue next time?

I thought the post event mingling was 5x better at Blu Jaz and it's a good venue for talks as well. Tiny bit crowded but in a good way, makes it feel buzzing.

I just find it a bit squeezy and those who came later had to stand at the corridor which was quite cramped and warm. Unfortunately, because it’s so cramped, we also had to forgo asking people to write down their email addresses since we had to move the crowd along.

You’re right about the post mingling but I feel the number of people staying back is about the same as the usual crowd who stays behind at the Hub. It just feels more compact because of the space constraint. But of course, the vibe is way better coz of the drinks available.

I also like the fact that we don’t have to set up any tables and chairs. Also, parking is great since we can park at the hotel for only $2 per entry.

I didn’t get a chance to check out the third floor. Is it bigger? But I think we can’t use it as it’s used for the comedy club on Wednesdays. I’m open to changing days if the third floor has more space and is available.

If we use the Hub, we will have to pay. If we use the Scape, it’s free but the vibe isn’t as good as Hub or Blu Jaz.

My suggestion is to try Blu Jaz again but third floor (if it’s bigger)?

Let's try third floor.
We have a group of 30 plus people who are our regulars. So the second floor will be too pack.
I think we have successfully weeded out the people who not into lean as I see the quality of the questions and the mingling is getting better.

Hi Guys

Sorry about lats night, but sounds like the event was a success. I'm happy to go with Blu Jazz if you guys think its best.

I also had an idea - should we approach Echelon and see if we can run some Lean Startup sessions? We could do a panel talk or quick fire round in an auditorium as well as 3 or 4 workshops for say 15-20 pax for 30 mins on some of the main topics we have already covered. Whats do you guys think? If you think its a good idea I can drop Mohan a line and see what he thinks.

Cheers,

Fergie

Ok consensus on getting 3rd floor of Blu Jaz. I'll try to sort it out. Might need to switch to Tuesday night which I think is fine.

For topic I will meet with Michael from Lean UX week and see if he can curate some speakers for us.

Fergie - I pitched Mohan on a lean startup session. Never heard back. But no harm in trying again!
