For years, Microsoft Flight Simulator X has been one of the most commonly used and well-known flight simulators around the world. Packed with features that allow you to globe-hop around the world and try out flights from many personal and professional viewpoints, FSX was the simulator that helped to take flight simulation to a whole new level.

And now, you can easily try out FSX via the Microsoft Flight Simulator X demo edition. This demo gives you access to all the help that you could need to see just what FSX offers in terms of features allowing you to comprehensively try out the simulator before you make a single investment.

With rich immersion and impressive visual detail, Microsoft Flight Simulator X offers the opportunity to see the world from the skies. With all manner of impressive detail in both aircraft and scenery, this helps to paint the world in a way that accurately portrays large parts of the planet.

High-quality missions allow you to take to the skies and enjoy a much more satisfying aviation experience, too. You can put yourself in the cockpit of an aircraft and see how you would handle everything from commercial jets to lights across some of the most dangerous terrain in the world.

Please note: The screenshots displayed below are created while using third-party add-ons in the simulator available from our library. However, some screenshots do show stock installs. It displays what's possi?ble within the sim.

Despite the fact we are closing in on the epic release of a new member of the flight simulation community, people are still being introduced to the world of FSX all the time. Its fine blend of authenticity, reality, control, and features makes FSX one of the best simulators ever released and this is why those who are just getting into simulation might decide to start here.

Today, the prospect of going on a plane is something that excites me! Even if you only want to start using a flight simulator to get a bit of context for a fear of flying, this is the perfect place to start at.

It takes a lot of time and patience to get things right, of course, and this can put a lot of people off making the purchase of FSX. However, what if we told that you could get a hands-free attempt at using this awesome simulator without spending a dime? With the help of the brilliant FSX demo that was released a few years ago, you can do just that.

Whilst many demos these days are nothing more than a trailer that lasts a bit longer and asks you to punch a few buttons, this actually gives you all the help that you could possibly need to get into the style of things.

I am downloading Microsoft Flight Simulator x Demo. I already have the full version with Steam. After a month or so, the game stopped working. The administrator has blocked the game from working with error code 0x4c7.

I also have the 2020 flight sim which works perfectly well but not through Steam. Looking at all the fixes for the game makes no difference. One might ask why would I want to play this game when I have a reality global flight sim.

The point is I never finished the older game and I have the thick book. I think Microsoft deliberately put a bug in the software to get one to buy the 2020 version. A lot of people have been conned. Unless they spend at least 800 or more on a powerful graphics card like I did. The game would never run. I am hoping to incorporate the x game into the demo.

Awesome amazing this demo For the record, I am a user of the amazing Microsoft Flight Simulator X, and although its version is old, it gave me what I was looking for, the experience of flying in the virtual world where I live, thank you for this demo, but what are the features that I can get in the Steam version that is not in the normal emulator version. thank you very much.

This file has now been updated to the full release demo. Previously it was the early release press release demo. The file size is slightly larger but the bulk of the contents remain the same and actually slightly improved from the initial demo release.

Can you advise me how I can download Microsoft Flight Simulation X Demo (build 60905.00, released 29 sept. 2006) which includes the Robinson R22 helicopter. I found a description on www.fsoutsider.wordpress.com/versions/, but no download instructions. I appreciate your advise. Thank You, H. Cassa.

How can I download and install new planes in FSX? I'm specifically intrested in the Concorde. I tried downloading generally planes from this webpage, but it's just new paintworks. Can anyone help me?...

Back in the day when FSX was launched MS released a demo version so that potential buyers could check if FSX would run on their PC,looks to me that FS2020 is going to need a lot of processing power and bandwidth to achieve the results that we are seeing on the videos that MS have released so far. That being the case I hope a demo version is made available so that we can try before we buy !!

I wouldn't consider that to be a representative test, mostly because optimization is done after those builds (for the most part). Apart from that, certain features might not be working or be incomplete.

Right now very few reviewers include simulators in their benchmark suite because they are generally a real pain in the beep to do, and a good multi-threaded CPU heavy benchmark could be a valuable testing tool, and end up exposing people who wouldn't normally see MSFS 2020 to the game otherwise.

One possibility is that the entire base game could be free of charge, with a $10 a month subscription for the online scenery streaming. This would make a lot of sense from a business standpoint; it would bring in a lot of users who might not otherwise try the simulator, and if you play for 2 years they would get $240 from you instead of $60.

This post may irritate some, as I'm not saying anything new that hasn't been said by some others recently. But you know when you experience something jaw dropping within this hobby and you're super excited and just want to share that?

I tried the SayIntentions demo this evening. First thing to say is that, compared to some addon ATC programs, the set up from clicking the 'try the demo' link on the website, to using it for the first time was unbelievably smooth, easy and hassle-free. Enter an email and password, put in credit card details (necessary even for the demo as verification), get taken to the download. Then, run the EXE, start MSFS, choose my PTT button and about 3 other preferences and that was it. Really impressed with how smooth the process is.

For me, I set up in the C172 at EGNT on the GA apron. Hit my PTT and talked to it for the first time; "Newcastle Ground, Skyhawk G-WILL is on the GA apron with Charlie, request taxi for VFR departure to the west". Delay was around 5 secs (not bad at all) then a very convincing British-accented female voice got back to me. The feeling was strange because it is so convincing and immersive, that I had slight butterflies! This continued in the air, where I had the similar feeling to when you're using the radio for the first time as a student pilot IRL. Or even when you fly on VATSIM (with coverage) for the first few times. I was scribbling down the frequencies, squawks and instructions I was given so I didn't miss them. I followed a normal GA VFR flight regime, with some additional little extras I tested, such as "Newcastle Approach, do you have the wind at EGNC?! .... The controller came back with a "standby" followed by "Carlisle is currently 220 at 6, QNH 30.06". When I had first taken off VFR, I'd not mentioned my destination and got an early call; "Skyhawk GLL, what is your destination?". After I'd replied, there was lot's of specific broadcasts coming from ATC related to my destination airport and the space around it.

In short, I was truly blown away by the immersiveness and versatility. Procedurally, what I did with it tonight was not particularly challenging or complex but it handled the flight (and my expectations) perfectly. As a result of what was a half-hearted decision to try the demo during a spare half hour I had tonight, I went straight onto Amazon and bought a new headset/mic, and subscribed to SI for the month ahead. I'm not saying I'll pay $30 per month for the rest of my life, but I am very happy to pay $30 for a month of further playing with this revolutionary immersion addon.
