Multiple errors after installation

Hi,
I'm really not sure where I went wrong. I was doing very well, until I
got to the end point!

When opening the the default web page I see the following error:

Error Message: Cannot open database "Sinergia_aspnetdb" requested by
the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY
\NETWORK SERVICE'.

(clicking on "Login", "Support" or "Home" - same results)

And if I try to click on the diagnostics link on the page (home >
products > one):

Error Message: Error executing child request for login.aspx.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I have uninstalled and started from
the started from the beginning and I receive the same error messages.

I see that 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE' will never be able to log in
to the database because it is not a user and cannot be. I set the
database up for Windows authentication. Should this have been
something else?

This is a networked server, I am in the Domain Admins group, and the
Domain Admins group is part of the Administrators group on the server.
All necessary components are on the one server, on the same hard
drive; I did install .NET 3.5 and the Enterprise Library from May
2007. I'm not sure if the later version(s) would have affected the
program.

I am on the IT hardware side, so my programming knowledge is limited;
any help is greatly appreciated.

Should have read all the posts first! Added Local System to default
application pool identity.
I am now able to start learning! Much better.
