To Query the Active Directory

I would like to retrieve information from the Windows 2003 AD Domain
Controller via LDAP. I would like this information (such as Username,
Full Name, E-mail address, etc) to fill the Sinergia_aspnetdb
database. I'm hoping to use this information to populate a case with
relevant user information, using a pull down menu, by selecting the
username value. Does anyone know of a good way to get started? Is
there anything within the API that I could take advantage of that will
accelerate the process? Thanks in advance to anyone for their
cooperation and input.

You should be able to achieve this configuring asp.net to use an Active Directory membership provider.
