“And, They Sink Deeper in Sins Despite”

“Oh Lord! May Thee Bless my Sindh with bounties in abundance,
Oh My Friend, my Beloved! Glorify Universe all with Thine exuberance.”
(Shah Bhittai: Translated by Ahmed Makhdoom)
Partition of India was just decided by two men over a lunch. This was the most treacherous act in the History of Mankind! Humanity lost ‘n Mankind was defeated! Savagery won ‘n Barbarism was victorious! History can repeat itself and this can happen again in our Motherland, Sindh.
Read here: “Partitioning India over Lunch,” by Alastair Lawson, BBC

Memoirs of a British civil servant, never seen in public until now, show how much the partition of India was decided by just two men, the BBC's Alastair Lawson reports about the ‘various and somewhat tatty pieces of paper’ that Robert Beaumont unearthed in a quite village in Yorkshire, the Northern English county and rifles through his father’s archives.
These are no ordinary collection of paternal memoirs. They are the thoughts and reflections of his father, Christopher Beaumont, who played a central role in the partition of India in 1947, which resulted in arguably the largest mass migration of peoples the world has ever seen. In 1947, Beaumont was private secretary to the senior British judge, Sir Cyril Radcliffe, who was chairman of the Indo-Pakistan Boundary Commission.
After reading this report, what more can we say, but, quote the words of the writer: "The trouble was that Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs were an integrated population so that it was impossible to make a frontier without widespread dislocation. Thousands of people died or were uprooted from their homes in what was in effect a civil war. By the end of 1947 there were virtually no Hindus or Sikhs living in west Punjab - now part of Pakistan - and no Muslims in the Indian east. The British government and Mountbatten must bear a large part of the blame for this tragedy."
And, this is what happens when your God-given Destiny is not in your own hands, but, in the vile clutches, brute grasp and savage control of thy Masters, Lords, Rulers and Owners! This is a Historical evidence of how those, who, enslave and colonise you, can pulverise you into mere insignificant powdered pulp and truncate you into mere trivial and trifling bits and pieces!
This is a lesson for Sindhis in colonised, occupied, pulverised and truncated Sindh of today! This is an eye-opener for those who forsake and left their Motherland, Sindh, and preferred Hind! This is a jaw-dropper for those, including myself, who left and abandoned their Fatherland, Sindh, and went all over the world in search of fame and fortune!
Sindhis continue to read but never heed! They know History but care a damn! These words of mine will be on thy deaf ears, blind eyes and mute senses, indeed! But, ignore not the words of Murshid Saaeen Bhittai and continue to “Sink deeper in Sins despite:”
“Parrhiyo thaa parrhani, karrhani keena qaluuba mein,
Paannaan ddoha charrhani, jiyan waraqa waraaeen witraa.”
(Shah Bhittai)
“Over and over they read and recite,
In their souls they never write,
Numerous pages turn ‘n turn in a jiffy,
Sink deeper in sins despite.”
(Bhittai: Translated by Ahmed Makhdoom)
History is a great teacher! If we don’t learn from History, then, we are certainly doomed, surely destroyed and truly extinct! And, ‘fools thy reward is neither here nor There!’ Wake up! Oh, Hibernating ‘n heedless Sindhi! Stand up ‘n be counted! Oh, Sleeping Sindhi! Arise ‘n Walk Tall! Oh Napping Sindhi!
