How to Install ClockworkMod Recovery on Galaxy S2 GT-I9100
ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM) is a custom recovery that allows you to perform various operations on your Android device, such as flashing custom ROMs, kernels, mods, backups, and more. In this article, we will show you how to install CWM on your Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 running Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
Prerequisites
- A Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 with Android 4.1.2 firmware. You can check your device model and firmware version by going to Settings > About device.
- A Windows PC and a USB cable.

- Odin3 v1.85 software. You can download it from [here].
- Jeboo Kernel I9100 v1-2a file. You can download it from [here].
- CWM-KitKatCompatible-i9100.tar file. You can download it from [here].
- Backup your important data, such as contacts, messages, photos, etc. Installing CWM will not wipe your data, but it is always better to be safe than sorry.
- Enable USB debugging on your device by going to Settings > Developer options > USB debugging.
- Charge your device to at least 60% battery level.
Steps to Install CWM on Galaxy S2 GT-I9100
- Extract the Odin3 v1.85 zip file and run the Odin3 v1.85.exe file as administrator.
- Power off your device and boot it into download mode by pressing and holding Volume Down + Home + Power buttons together for a few seconds. When you see a warning screen, press Volume Up to continue.
- Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable. Odin should recognize your device and show a blue box with a COM port number.
- Click the PDA button and select the jeboo_kernel_i9100_v1-2a.tar file. Make sure that only Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options are checked in Odin.
- Click the Start button and wait for Odin to flash the kernel on your device. When the process is complete, your device will reboot automatically.
- Disconnect your device from your PC and power it off again.
- Boot your device into recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Up + Home + Power buttons together for a few seconds. You should see the CWM recovery menu on your screen.
- Select install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard and navigate to the CWM-KitKatCompatible-i9100.tar file that you copied to your device earlier. Select it and confirm the installation.
- When the installation is done, go back to the main menu and select reboot system now.
