A wafer thin issue this month but it does have Rachel Stevens as the
cover girl.
But sadly, it is the only thing worth noting about this month's issue.
The shoot itself is slightly better than the usual for FHM. We get
several pages of Rachel although we get two double page spreads of her
spawling about in a variety of clothing such as dresses and lingerie.
It is nothing too revealing however. Obviously, the lingerie poses are
better and she looks more classy, with one pretty good shot of her
knelt on a settee. That's about as good it gets however as once again
the shoot has been taken in a pretty bland studio. The interview
itself is pretty much about her time on the Beeb's Strictly Dancing in
which she finished runner-up. Rachel also featured in FHM last year
when FHM rebranded itself, the standard of that shoot hasn't been
really been matched since. Also, I am finding myself getting
irradiated by the seemingly lack of thought at placing captions across
the images, it ruins them and distracts the reader. This is FHM trying
to be 'with it' with their page layouts but it doesn't work at all.
The other girl shoot is of Lauren Harris, daughter of Iron Maiden's
bassist. A few shots here too, two of them black & white posing
topless although all you get to see is her back. The other shots has
her surrounded by music items, etc.
In any case, Rachel Stevens is definitely worth a peek at least before
she gets married this year and presumably will disappear from the
public eye for the foreseeable future.
