 Hi,
I am setting up an IDP for the filesender service. I  am trying to sync it with our ldap server and it throws this error:
Error

Authentication source error

Authentication error in source 'ldap'. The reason was: 'Library - LDAP bind(): Bind failed with DN \'cn=merakaradius,ou=users,ou=scientia,ou=pta,ou=gtng,o=csir\'; cause: \'Can\'t contact LDAP server\' (0xffffffffffffffff)'

Your assistance will be appreciated.

Regards,
Sakhi

As the error message says, simpleSAMLphp cannot contact your LDAP sesrver.
Have you tried using telnet to verify that connections from the host
simpleSAMLphp runs on to the right port number on the ldap server do indeed
work?

Hi Thijs;
I have the same configurations running on the other machine and it connects succesful to the LDAP.

Oh....I think its a network problem as the two machines sit on different networks

This was resolved long time back in 2014. You can close the ticket

1. By not replying to any 4-year old discussion that mentions LDAP errors

2. By fixing your "Bad search filter", i.e., the software gave you the
very reason.

At the very least you're missing a final bracket in the existing filter:

(&(|(uid=penggunabaru))(&(objectclass=inetOrgPerson)(|(sn=baru)(cn=pengguna baru *)))

it would need to be this for syntactical correctness:

(&(|(uid=penggunabaru))(&(objectclass=inetOrgPerson)(|(sn=baru)(cn=pengguna baru *))))

Which is what a proper text editor alone should tell you.
The rest is a bit weird, too (e.g. the OR around the uid filter is
redundant), but at least the syntax seems valid.
