Today we are announcing Urban Airship’s acquisition of SimpleGeo. For SimpleGeo Customers, here are answers to many of the questions you may have.

1. Who is UA?
1. Urban Airship is the leading maker of tools that brands use to engage consumers on mobile. For more information : http://urbanairship.com
2. Why did UA acquire SG?
1. We’ve had a successful partnership with Urban Airship since last summer. In our partnership discussions, we quickly realized that the power of both companies together resulted in products neither company could offer on its own, or in short, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
3. How will I benefit from this acquisition?
1. The combined company will bring push notifications, in-app purchasing, subscriptions, context, identity and geo-location together on a single platform that gives brands what they need to make the most sense and money from their mobile/local strategies.
4. What will happen to my account?
1. All SimpleGeo services, accounts, data, and products will continue, at a minimum, uninterrupted for six months. We will continue to update and maintain all products and services during that period.
5. Will the pricing / plans change?
1. No, not at this time.
6. Are there plans to discontinue any products?
1. There are no plans to discontinue SimpleGeo products.
7. How will the product portfolios be integrated over time?
1. We will package up push notifications, location, context, in-app purchase tools, subscriptions and much more so that mobile app developers can focus on what they do best: design and user experience.
8. What will change? Will my Urban Airship account and SG accounts be merged?
1. For now the two product lines will remain separate. Over time, however, it makes sense for accounts to be merged. We will be keeping you updated as we finalize details for merging user accounts.
9. Can people still sign up for SG?
1. Yes, people may still sign up for a SimpleGeo account. At some point in the future, your SimpleGeo account will likely become an Urban Airship account.
10. How can I extract my data from SG?
1. You can extract our data via our API. We currently do not have a bulk export feature available, but will definitely make one available if any of the SimpleGeo products are shut down.
