SimpleDot is a micro-journaling app that lets you write one short
journal entry per day. Each entry can include text, up to three photos, a
1–5 star rating, and optional focus tags for categorization. Entries
are limited to one per day and cannot be created for future dates.
The main interface consists of two tabs:
1.
A Dashboard with a monthly calendar grid showing dots for days with
entries, basic statistics like entry count and average rating, and a
link to detailed insights. The center button opens the entry editor for
today.
2. An All Entries list with search, filters, and a Reading View for browsing past entries.
Settings are accessible via the gear icon in the top bar.
Additional
features include a home screen widget showing memories, color themes,
daily reminder notifications, and export/import of journal data in JSON
and plain text format.
The app offers an optional subscription
called Dot+ which adds iCloud or Google Drive sync, biometric app lock,
three additional color themes, advanced widget options, and advanced
insights including rhythm analysis and rating breakdowns. The free
version is fully functional without an account or sign-in. All data is
stored locally on the device by default.
The app is available in German and English.
