GSoc - SimpleCV - Beginner Projects

Hi there,

I am surya, studying Electronics & Communication Engineering. I have
good knowledge in C, Python. (Familiar with HTML, Java).

I am very interested in joining SimpleCV as a part of GSoc and like to
contribute by writing examples, assisting others. So, I just went
through the example site of SimpleCV and found it amazing. I am very
much sure that I can complete it.

However, I am trying to figure out what all things I should do. I
mean, to what extent of SimpleCV I should write example and tutorials.
Is it just the example that I should be writing or should I need to
contribute any code.

It would be very grateful if someone helps me on it.

The following are the things I am even looking for :

1. Is there any standard application template for SimpleCV I should
use?
2. Can I post my application for a review?
3. what are the factors that you consider in choosing an application?

Apart from these, is there anything I should know (any technical
stuff) before applying?

Write something that you think would be fun and useful, it doesn't have to be a huge project.

Yes, see the examples folder. 

2. Can I post my application for a review?

Yes, if isn't on a public source repo I won't look at it.

Capability in completing a project, ability to communicate, self motivation... a lot of things. 

Apart from these, is there anything I should know (any technical
stuff) before applying?

Thanks a lot Kat. It was clarified the basic questions I had. I suppose
I will come on the IRC during the office hours to ask some idea specific
queries and some general ones as well.
