Global configuration settings?

My rubygem/bundler setup uses BUNDLE_DISABLE_SHARED_GEMS and installs to a local .bundle directory inside each project. As a result, when I run my test suite, it's running coverage on everything in .bundle as well. I've gotten in the habit of adding a filter for .bundle to my configurations, but for shared projects I'd rather not have to impose my configuration needs on other collaborators. Is there a way to add configurations globally? If not, what do you think about having a ~/.simplecov or something like it as a means for having user-defined configs?
