Grouping a few items under one title

I want a single primary item to have multiple groups of sub items

for example:

{primary1}

    Sub group name1

    {sub1}

    {sub2}

    Sub group name2

    {sub3}

    {sub4}

{primary 2}

How do I achieve this ?

If sub1-sub4 are on the same level of navigation, this is not possible out of the box. You would either have to insert the group heading somehow with javascript or css (:before block) or you have to write a custom renderer which generates the html you need.
