Our next Food Group Meeting is Monday, March 4 2013, 7:00 - 8:30 pm at 
Christ Church United Methodist, 35 State Street, Troy.

Guy Schaeffer will be speaking about food waste in Troy, and the lively 
effort to recover food waste and other organic material from the waste 
stream in Troy, turning it into compost for more food growing.  Thanks 
to Abby for reaching out to Guy.

Madeline Kennedy, from the Albany Food Justice Coalition, will also 
visit to speak about the Coalition, and the prospect of regional 
collaboration on some aspects of the VERY LARGE food issues in our 
region.  Thanks to Tolu for reaching out to Madeline.

Linda Bulson, from Homestead Farms, cannot attend the March meeting, but 
will be with us on April 1 to talk about the realities of farming, and 
her perspective about barriers and supports needed for farmers and 
connecting farms with cities.  Linda, with her husband Richard, farms at 
Homestead Farms in Brunswick and runs a substantial CSA there.

The notes from our meeting of Feb 4 are attached (thanks Margaret!) and 
I'll get them posted on the Transition Troy website transitiontroyny.org 
as soon as I can re-figure out how to do that.
