Subject: [PAUSE] Upcoming Events on the All Green Calendar
To: Tina Lieberman <allgreen...@gmail.com>

Take a look at the "green" events coming up in the Capital Region.  For more details about these events go to the All Green Calendar:

Community Choice Aggregation - Public Information Forum Monday, 2/26/18 6:30-8:30 pm, Albany Public Library, 161 Washington Ave. Auditorium
With Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) we can purchase electricity in bulk, save $ on our electric bills AND provide everyone in our municipality with affordable green energy.

Hear Kelly Strait of the Dept. of Public Service and Robyn Reynolds of the Capital District Regional Planning Commission (a NYSERDA subcontractor) explain what CCA is, why the PSC and NYSERDA are hoping communities will work to adopt it, and how it can contribute to the clean energy revolution in a big way. Also present will be a representative of an environmental coalition group in Rochester who is working to develop a green energy CCA for their local community. The forum will consist of three short presentations by our speakers followed by an hour of lively questions and answers.
(Note: Please park in the back parking lot of the library on Elk Street since the front door to the library closes at 8 pm.)

People's Hearing on Climate Change Tuesday, 2/27 from 9:15-3:30 (join for all or part) at the NYS Capitol and Legislative Office Building (LOB)

Citizen Action, NY Renews and other enviro groups will hold a People's Hearing, concurrent to the official executive budget hearings, to call on Governor Cuomo to pass the Climate and Community Protection Act for 100% renewable energy and to implement a fee on big polluters to fund the transition. Then we'll march to Governor Cuomo's office to give him a giant $7.1 billion check--the exact amount he's leaving on the table by failing to commit to a climate polluter fee.  This is a critical opportunity to put direct pressure on the Governor, raise our profile in Albany, and lift up our campaign in the media.

Your Comment Needed for Off-Shore Oil Drilling Proposal

Weigh in with the federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) and tell them why they shouldn't drill for oil off the coast of NY State:

Your Comment Needed To Stop Line 3 Tar Sands Pipeline:

Right now, there are 3 major tar sands pipelines on the table that, if built, would send our climate past a tipping point. Keystone XL in the Midwest, Kinder Morgan in Western Canada, and Line 3 near the Great Lakes would all bring tar sands from Alberta, Canada to market -- threatening Indigenous rights and burning more fossil fuels our climate can’t bear.  Please submit a comment via 350.org to the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission urging them to reject Line 3 Pipeline:
