Hi,

I would like to know if is possible to model (response for a 3D reservoir - canonical model) a Vertical Electric Dipole in time domain (http://www.petromarker.com/introduction-to-csem) with SimPEG. The method is a CSEM, but the source and receiver are vertical and the measurements are in time (please, see the figure for clarification).

Thanks,
Danusa

Hi Danusa,

Thanks for your message! Yes, we can model Vertical electric dipoles in the time domain. We are currently lacking in examples here, but you can use the time-domain LineCurrent to simulate an electric dipole. Here is one notebooks (and the source code) that show it in action.

Seogi (cc'd here) might have a couple other examples to point you to for getting started (in addition to the time domain EM examples in the docs).

I hope this is a helpful starting point - feel free to follow up with further questions!

All the best,
Lindsey

Hi Lindsey,

Thank you for your help. The examples are a great starting point. I'll take a close look.

Seogi, if you may help build the model would be excellent and I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks,
Danusa
