I'm pleased to announce that the first Release Candidate of SIMP 6.0.0 is available for download and evaluation.

SIMP 6.0.0 is the first consolidated release of SIMP that supports both Red Hat and CentOS 6 and 7 under a single release header. Additionally, this is our first release with full Puppet 4 support as well as better integration with Puppet Enterprise.

Please see the Changelog for the relevant release information.

The 6.X Main Repository and the Dependency Repository can be found on Package Cloud. Please see the README at the bottom of the page and do not use the PackageCloud instructions for enabling the repositories.

ISOs, powered by CentOS, are also available over at simp-project.com.

We presently anticipate that the main updates between the Beta and the final release will be in improving the release documentation. We are presently in a feature freeze so any further updates for the 6.0.0-0 release will target fixing bugs in the product stack.

You can keep track of the 6.0.0-RC1 release in JIRA.

If you have any questions, please post them to the simp-users mailing list or hit us in Hipchat!

Thanks,

Trevor
