Hi all,
not a programmer here, but I'd like to suggest a list of improvements
to the Timeline.

1) Disabling text selection. Personally, I find it painful when I drag
and the whole Timeline becomes selected by accident. It happens all
the time.
I found a script that lets me disable text selection on the timeline
element alone, and I call it on the footer:
<script type="text/javascript">
var somediv=document.getElementById("mytimeline")
disableSelection(somediv) //disable text selection within DIV with
id="mydiv"
</script>
It just feels much better IMHO.

2) Cursor change:
By changing the cursor icon to something like arrows (left-right or
left-right-top-bottm), when hovering the draggable areas, it would
give the user a better idea of the interaction.

3) Horizontal scrolling with ease.
I've followed the vertical scrolling thread here:
http://groups.google.com/group/simile-widgets/browse_frm/thread/997a81c6c961da11?tvc=1&q=dragging+horizontal
I always felt the need for accelleration and easing to the timeline,
based upon the scrolling interaction. Read: Iphone type of scroll, but
horizontal.
This a more a "cosmetic" suggestion...but hey...a little style won't
do no harm.

All three suggestions you can find already applied at

They look good and feel good.

Would they be hard to accomplish?
