Hi all,

I would like to plot invoice information on a timeline, but I have
multiple dates in the invoice. For example, I have work started date,
work end date, invoice sent date, check received date. Ideally, work
start and end is a duration and the last two are points on the
timeline. I would also like to plot multiple 'invoices' on the
timeline. Is this possible within Exhibit (which I want to use for the
filtering and sorting)?

Thanks

Hi Shake,

You'll need to modify source to get the display effects that you want.
The good news is that Exhibit and Timeline are open source, so you
can. Look at how original-painter and detailed-painter paint an
event's icon and tape. You could paint multiple icons per tape. Also
look at how non-precise event tapes are painted one above the other.
You could paint small "tick" marks to indicate the multiple dates
during the overall events.

If you want your changes to be further enhanced and maintained,
contribute them as additions to the SIMILE widgets. (Make them open
source.)

As corporate IT projects go, sounds like fun.

Good luck,

Larry

It should be possible depending on how you model the data. Note that in
the presidents example
http://simile.mit.edu/exhibit/examples/presidents/presidents-2.html
Grover Cleveland appeared twice on the timeline (1885, 1893).

It's best to give us a URL of your exhibit showing what you've done so
far, what works and what doesn't... Use fake data if the real data is
sensitive.
