Timeline: How to edit XML event file

I am working with the religions example and when I change a date range
in the christian XML event file it seems to break the file so that the
events no longer populate into the widget. The Jewish events populate
but not the Christian events. I am using Notepad++ as the editor. I
only see the date range in one location but maybe there is some other
dependency in the file that I am breaking.

Is there a set data range for the Christians or for the timeline? If
the new date is outside this you might get an error. Did you see one?
(in firebug or an equivalent). Post the html and the data so people
might be able to check what the problem is.

Have you saved the XML file in UTF-8 or unicode format?

If you save it in ANSI (which my notepad did if you don't change it) then it will not work.

Have you saved th XML file ind ANSI-format?

Try save-as and select unicode or UTF-8 if Notepad++ can do that else
can the normal Notepad.
