Hello,
I'm using your piece of software for a company project and I've been ask to add fixed (not moving) data on each side of the timeline.
I would like to know if there an easy way of doing this with the timeline.
Thanks.

It’s not really clear what you are wanting to do – whether the “fixed” data is related to the data in the timeline.   But if you want to put something to the right or left of the timeline, isn’t this simply a matter of putting the timeline into some sort of division of your page – either a <div></div>, or <iframe … />, or a table, and then putting the other data in other parts of the page.  See the 2nd illustration in http://www.robertb.co.nz/timeline/Using%20the%20Simile%20TimeLine%20with%20ASP.htm - is this what you mean (here the “fixed” data is above and to the left – but you get the idea.

Yes I think is unclear too, I'm going to explain.
I've got a timeline to monitor the activity of the staff people of my firm. But the boss want a global timeline that represent one worker per track. In the left of each track I've got to put a fixed cell with the name of the worker and in the left comments on them.

To make it clear I would like to add two overlays on both side of the timeline.

If I understand what you want, you simply put the timeline into an
html table with something in the td's on either side: -
<table>
<tr>
<td>
Stuff to go on the left of your timeline
</td>
<td>
Timeline
</td>
<td>
Stuff to go on the right of the timeline
</td>
</tr>
</table>

Since my normal development environment is MS Visual Studio, all this
would be within my aspx page (see
http://www.robertb.co.nz/timeline/Using the Simile TimeLine with
ASP.htm
for an example), and there'd be something in the vb code-behind to
populate the left and right bits. But <table>, <tr>, and <td> are
basic html, and there's nothing specific to MS or ASP.NET about the
suggestion above.

I hope this helps.
Regards, Robert.

Thanks for the replie, I have thought of doing it that way but it doesn't guarentee that the line of the table and the tracks are aligned. I think more of an overlay above each tracks in order to do the job. For the moment I'm trying to not make a fork in order to add this functionality. If someone knows a workaround for this issue it will help me so mush. Thanks !

Finally I use more or less your idea of table, and with some adjustement it works great and was very easy (JQuery). Thanks for your advise, and the great job you have done in timeline.
