Seems to happen with every browser. This is unfortunately a show-stopper
from a usability standpoint...

I've just tried this in latest firefox. Dragging over text does highlight
the text but does not lose the drag. Losing drag when you leave a band
might be a feature: it would be very strange if your drag suddenly started
happening at a different scale.
