Now that Thunderbird 3 Beta 4 includes a faceted search feature, does Seek
still make
sense as a standalone extension ?
If you override the "incompatibility" error and set the Maxver to 3.0.*
then it'll
install but it appears that there's some basic changes that have occurred in
Thunderbird 3.0 that cause Seek to fail to work. Pity :(

As a side note in reference to the fact that the Mozilla Developers have
been
thinking about integrating some of Seeks faetures into TB3. I'd think that
the point
behind making an email client, or for that matter a browser, that supports
addons
would be to allow the addons to add the extra functionality. This way if
you just
want a fast mail client or browser then you can have. If you want extras
then you
can install them but perhaps lose some performance.

They have made much more than think about it. Just look at the latest
Beta...
For the add-on issue : searching in previous messages is for me a core
requirement
for an e-mail client.
