simpleDB and IAM assume role

Hi, 

I am trying to set up chaos monkey through an ec2 instance. Trying to bypass using access key and secret key by using an instance role. However, The simpleDB doesn't get created automatically, and since the bash script needs access key and secret key to create the sdb manually, I am somewhat stuck. If anyone can guide me as to what i can do to get my simpleDB created, that would be great.
