Hello everyone
I need some advice I am using a CRT 17 inch monitor at this time I was
looking at buying a flat panel LCD 17 inch to save some room on my desk,
here is my question I have read in different places that an LCD might cause
screen flickering in scenery and possibly a washed out look any advise would
be appreciated my system specs are

P4 3.0 with HT

Intel D875PBZ motherboard

1032 megs of PC 3200 Synchronous Ram working in duel channel

GeForce FX 5700 Ultra 128 megs DDR3 ram

SATA W/D 200 gig hard drive

Sound Blaster Live

DVD Player

CD Burner

Windows XP Home with service pack 2 installed

TIA

Mark

I got a 17" LCD with a new dell system and its nowhere as good spec wise as
other monitors like Samsung etc, and I can tell you I have no problems with
screen flickering, washed out look etc. I have been pleasantly surprised how
good it is and so glad for the extra space on my desk.

Mark,

I have a 17" LCD (Samtron) driven by a rather old 9200 ATI - still get pin
sharp image, no flickeing, no noticeable shimer, good colour and no
"washout" - very pleased with it and glad of the extra desk space.

Main problem with TFTs and games would be ghosting but that would
rather be noticeable with 3D shooters and racing games, not FS... If
you can and your video card supports it get a digital display.
