My windows XP operating system has become unstable and I am considering a
format and then reinstalling Fs2004, which still works fine. The reformat is
not a problem but the reinstall of Fs2004 is because I have installed many
if not every add-on made ! :-)
To avoid doing a reinstall of FS2004, I assume the best way to proceed is to
move my current installation of Fs2004 to a remote drive, format my
computer, install Fs2004, patch it, and copy my old installation of Fs2004
in to the newly installed FS2004 folder and overwriting all the new folders.
Would this create any problems since there would be no registry entries of
all the FS2004 add-ons?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Gary
If you re-install FS before copying over it the older installation
registry information will be there...
But first of all did you try to repair XP? Boot from the CD and choose
the repair option that appears after you select the partition onto
which to install the OS. You will need to re-apply any updates or
service pack afterwards...
