FS95 or FS98

I am running my FS2000 Pro on an old P1 PC. the performance is not good. I
am wiping my PC today so I can do a clean install. Can some one tell me if I
should go back to Win95 for better performance?

I think I would rather recommend FS98. FS98 has a lot of improvement in
scenery engine, is a little bit quicker, although you have to pay attention
to your memory usage. Try to avoid TSR programms, and/or background running
programms like firewalls, antivirus, and so on.

I used FS98 quite a lot with my previous PI - 100 MHz try to get at least
64Mb and 8 or 16Mb PCI Video. If possilble AGP. (Which I didn't, actually -I
used a Trident 2Mb video card I guess- ) and the performance was quite good.

I also used QEMM 386, and obviously W95. I won't recommend W98 because it is
heavier than 95 and more resource-consuming O.S. Pay attention on your
memory configuration and swap file, try to get as much free extended memory
as possible.

I think that's all what I can say... obviously this is just my point of
view, based on my very own experience. You will have to make your own
decision... Good luck!
