Profiling code with simavr

Hi,

Is it possible to use simavr to profile AVR machine code?

Scenario:

I have a number of functions that I want to measure the execution times on different chips.

Can I use simavr to get a breakdown of how the generated machine code corresponds to instruction-by-instruction execution times (in terms of clock cycles)?

Can I use simavr to get timings for how a given function call takes overall, given certain inputs?

Or, is there a better tool for this on the AVR platform?
