I've got a '64 1449 and want to adjust the neck angle. Anyone know
what type/size hex/allen wrench will do the trick? Thanks.

Hi,

Off the top of my head I'm not sure of the exact size of allen wrench to adjust the neck angle....I'm going to guess somewhere around 1/16 or 3/32.

I have a 1457 and I've used the neck tilt adjustment to get the neck angle set up just right for the string guage and the action I like. It's a very simple thing, just a little set screw underneath the neck pocket but it works very well. Also try adjusting the bridge to get the strings going over the rosewood saddle at an angle. This should improve the sound a little too.

Good luck!  Write in again and report your results.
