Hello!

Together with Zauberfisch, I'm pleased to announce that all our recent bugtracker issues have now been migrated to github:

It now contains all open issues from the last 24 months,
as well as two dozen older tickets which were deemed important enough to migrate.
The old tickets on open.silverstripe.org have been closed (report).

There's roughly 700 tickets in github now, and 300 older tickets remaining in open.silverstripe.org (report).

Each of these remaining open.silverstripe.org tickets will require some bug triage, and a case-by-case decision to migrate it over, or close it.
You can all help us get this over the line by looking through this report, trying to reproduce issues,
and comment on the outcome of your tests. We also value your opinion if you think this ticket
can be closed (= its unlikely to be fixed in the next months).

We also have 80 tickets which related to modules or documentation, not core (report).
It would be great if you guys can help migrate them to their new homes (mostly on github.com module issue trackers).

I've updated the issue reporting guidelines, please ensure you follow them when filing tickets on github.

Massive thanks to Zauberfisch for writing and running the migration scripts, without him
we wouldn't have gotten this over the line so quickly!

Great work Zauberfisch / Ingo! (although didn't get the notification to turn off github emails in time, so 1464 emails later...)

I'll help out going through some of the older tickets this weekend.

haha, yeah, sent out a warning to core devs, seems it got to you to late :P
but if it makes you feel better, ingo got hit way worse, he also got
those of my several test runs

anyway, I think this is a great change (even though simon has some good
points).
I totally dislike trac and so I barely reported issues and if I fixed
one, I never looked if there is a ticket for it. Full integration with
our version control system and being close to the code base will help me
a lot there.

I've just migrated over the remaining 78 older issues from Trac, which means there are no more open tickets in open.silverstripe.org.
The initial migration was automatically moving issues from the last two years, we went through the older ones manually.
According to our new enhancement ticket guidelines, we've closed a bunch of them as wontfix.
We'll keep the system around indefinitely. Since we haven't migrated tickets already closed there, it still provides context on commit messages and valueable old discussions.

I'd like to express a big THANK YOU to @wilr for spending a few long nights going through the remaining 238 issues, absolutely heroic effort.

Ingo
