Fred, where can I find the code for the speedtest you had on the landing page on the old server. I'd like to implement that on the new box as it was small and clean.

Thanks

I had put up a link to speedtest.net and added that domain to the
walled garden (it is currently in the default walled garden).

The javascript I cobbled together to automatically run a speed test
didn't work across all browsers, so I canned that in favor of
redirecting users to the speed test. I think there are some widgets
out there offered by speedtest.net that we can implement; hopefully at
least one of those will run automatically on the page load; if not
maybe we can make a few changes to the code to make it so.

There is a mini speed test from speedtest.net - http://speedtest.net/mini.php

I took a brief look at the code - maybe I can fold that into the
default splash page code.

Getting the test to run automatically on page load can probably be
done, but I haven't thought it through to identify any areas where
that may cause problems. The 'please run the speed test!' in big,
bold letters is probably the best way to get the user to do what we
want. Along with perhaps some values so they can determine the
quality of signal they have to the internet.
