Dear Tam,
Here is my input:)
How long will each customer stay for? How to stop them from hogging the gadgets?
I would say for elderly, 2-3 hours per visit should be a good gauge, since they can be quite free during daytime, however, this takes time to achieve, if they are new here, a half-hour visit should be okay for them to try out
Hogging the gadgets are fine?(since the purpose is for them to use the gadgets?), introduce more gadgets perhaps? But this will increase cost, a hard-measure such as time limit could be implemented (this goes contrary to encourage their stay)
How much floor space do we need? 1200sqft? 1500sqft?
I think we should start on a smaller scale, 1200 sqft should be okay
What should the structure of the space be like?
The design should be soothing and soft in general, and important devices such as ipad and WII should be put inside to encourage them to walk in, information counter should be put at the door area
What gadgets should we have? Other than tablet, smartphone, Wii, Kinect
Normal laptops or desktop computers
How should we manage our volunteers? What do volunteers do when there is no customer? What do they do when customers step in? What do they do when customers sit down etc?
Shift for volunteers to maximize the time.
They should be spending time preparing for IT materials for the elderly, when there is no customer
After customer step in, they should be actively engaging the customers to encourage them to use and try out the devices
How to make sure that the ambiance of CK not too noisy like how noisy and crowded Pitch Stop or other hawker center are
Noisy is part of our environment, I think should not be too worried about it. (If they are noisy, they could attract other customers to come over and see)
What are different ways to raise awareness of CK?
Talk, mails, flyers
Do we serve other customers (the younger one) if they come to CK too? and will serving them dilute our value proposition?
I think we should be very specific in our customer clientele, thus I don't think we should attract the young, and I don't think they are willing to come over.
Best Regards,
Chang Yuanyangzi
