Hi all,

Updates:
-Saturday (14th June) meeting is at Scape, 12pm onwards.
Before the meeting, I need y'all to do some interviews/observations, MUST take photos of your observations so that we can discuss about the different use cases during the meeting. More details about what to observe for is below.

Our direction forward:
-After much thought and discussion with Daniel, we think that CK should move forward by developing senior centric apps/websites for corporates to streamline their business processes. This will help add more layers to our revenue stream + secure investors.

E.g senior citizens spend long time at banks for enquiry. If we can use apps to help SCs search for answers, we can save manpower costs.
1/6 hr * $10 salary/hr * 20seniors * 21branches= total costs we can save DBS using technological solutions.

We can use the prototype apps to pitch to 4-5 corp (e.g DBS) to get funds to start the full blown CK. Next sem we will be having more computer engineering members to develop these apps~!
Our aim is by end of next sem, we should have our 1st CK at Boon Lay CC/ Kampong Glam CC:) Woohoo!

So our next step is the primary research/ Job allocations:
We need to identify problems in current processes and brainstorm IT solutions to disrupt the usual flow. To do that, I need all of you to go onto the field to do some interviews and observations before our meeting on Saturday.

There are many sectors we can look at
1. Financial
Calvin:
- since you are interning at a bank, is it possible for you to talk to some bank staff to understand what are the common problems SCs come to the banks for?
-Go visit a bank during ur lunch break or Saturday morning and interview some seniors about financial planning. Do they do financial planning? Why not? What are the problems they face in managing their financials? Walking to banks mafan not etc etc
- also can time how long senior citizens take at banks
- MUST take pictures! (Can be pictures of seniors spending long time at enquiry counter, or other picture which can speak 1000words about what insight u gained)

2. Health
Nic:
-Go down to polyclinics on Saturday morning or anytime after work to observe how it is like for seniors to queue and get medical attention. TAKE PICTURES~
- interview some seniors about what they feel about going down from their home to do health checkup. Problem they face. Is going to hospital v troublesome for them? If they can go to a void deck near their home for checkup instead, is it better? Or use technology to convey their medical problems without leaving their homes, would they like tt?
- time how long it takes for senior citizens to get a checkup at polyclinics
- Oh and as i mentioned on Whatsapp, I would need you to come up with sample question that everyone can use as reference when they interview seniors. We would need this sample interview question to secure a possible home interview with seniors at Kampong Glam Community. Thanks so much for your help in this!

 3.Social services
Desmond:
-go visit senior activities centres before Saturday's meeting (some time after work) to take pictures of senior's lives there (TAKE PICTURES)
- what are the processes in SAC that can be improved?
- what are the existing problems that SAC face (you can talk to the sac staff)
- interview the seniors at the SAC to understand what problems they face at different aspect of their lives (financial, health, entertainment, learning etc)
- if you cannot find time to go Sac, pls inform me so either I or Tam can go sac do observation instead. So instead of going sac, you can call your grandparents and interview them + help Calvin with his observations at banks.

Please please make sure you have your pictures and interview results ready before Saturday's meeting. Based on your observations and interview, you will need to answer the following questions. Then we will discuss them during our meeting. Make sure to craft your interview and observations so that you can answer these questions:

1. What are the current situations of the different segments (aka corp sectors that may involve SCs e.g. financial, health, social)?

2. What are the desired outcome for the various segments?

3. What are the current attempted approach to target SCs in various corp sectors (e.g. financial, health, social)?

4. What are the interfering factors that make the current attempted approach unable to serve the needs of SCs well?

5. What are the economic consequences to each of the segments

6. How is our product is the new approach to help different segments solve their problems?

7. What are the factors that enable our product to address customers' needs?

8. What are the economic rewards to different customer segments when using our product?
