Highway 15 is closed north from mile 7 at the intersection with Main St with law enforcement there, although NMroads.com says it’s closed at mile 17, roughly the turnoff for Sheep Corral Rd. Don’t argue with the sheriff about the difference.

It is possible to access the CDT and Bear Creek (USFS road 506) from little walnut and take either to highway 15 and stay out of the USFS closure area. But they are now dead ends because you cannot use 15 to connect them. There are no signs at these dead ends to indicate that 15 is closed, although I can report that it is patrolled. It is possible to connect them and stay east of 15 but it’s a difficult challenge.

Dance for rain!

I harvest rain for drinking water so I'm always excited for it but I don't think I've ever been this excited for rain. Tomorrow looks promising!!!

Raining like hell at Ute Lake. Standing water on the ground.
