some good news

Hello everyone. You know folks, the whole point of this group revolves around the discussion and sharing of the positive in our lives. For the past number of days now, I've been doing all the writing. I'd like to see that change at some point, alright?

 

Recently, I've been approaching an organisation called The Dam. It tries to provide a safe place for youth at risk to hang out and be mentored by people with more stable lives. They're actually close enough to me for me to get there and back on my own. For most of my life, I've heard "no" whenever I've tried to find a job, find a date or even find a place to volunteer. The Dam, however, seems quite interested in having me work with them when their new volunteer schedule starts up in three weeks. I'll have to go through a police check and likely answer some more questions before I start, but the woman in charge seems eager to have me join them. I find that very refreshing indeed.
