Hello everyone. It can be hard to start conversation sometimes. Over the next while, I'll be putting out some topics which will hopefully help to break the ice. If you want to start your own discussions, please do. Let's show the world that we're full of more than piss and vinegar. I find it impossible to imagine anybody in North America living a life without movies. I enjoy listenning to them with and without audio descriptions. Sometimes, audio description gets in the way of other sounds and dialogue so I try to see some movies in both formats. I guess people might be surprised that a blind man would own a collection of dvds.

One of my favorite movies is called Stranger Than Fiction. It's about a man who discovers that he's the main character in a story and is destined to die at the end of it. He sets out on a quest to find his author and prevent this death from happening. This movie came into my life just after my marriage fell apart. It seemed like everything I had achieved as an adult had gone to pieces. You'd think a movie about a man finding the love of his life would be like rubbing salt in a wound. However, I found it very helpful in coming to terms with things. It spoke of the warmpth of humanity and reminded me that there were good people out there wo are willing to sacrifice a lot for the good of others. The characters were well-written and very well acted. Ultimately, I was driven to seriously consider how valueable things like art in all its forms can be in helping us get through our lives with soulds intact. It also made me wonder what I would be willing to lay down my life for. However, it did this in a very entertaining and funny way. There are a lot of laughs in Stranger Than Fiction. I won't say too much more for fear of spoiling the film for anybody who hasn't seen it yet. It's well worth the time.

What movies have made a difference in your outlook on life? How have they inspired you? What have they made you think about?
