I have attached a .pdf and .docx flyer a monthly Community Event forming in Silver City, NM through the Silver City United Church of Christ.

Potluck + Engagement + Paying it Forward to our Neighbors = Community Agape.

Agape means Love. We live in a world overwhelmed with divisiveness, pain, and confusion....Now more than ever, it is time to come together in the Spirit of Love, Good Food, Laughter, Inclusiveness, and Inner Peace.

We began Oct, 15th with Potluck meal + Needs Drive for El Refugio + Movie Screening of the Shadow Effect = Great intimate conversation with Rachel Sierra, delicious food (learned new recipes!), new friends, corny jokes, compelling film on Shadow Work and a Wealth of donated items for the women and children transitioning out of our domestic violence shelter and back into the arms of Community Agape.

Coming up on Nov, 12th: Potluck meal+ Open Mic +  Needs Drive for Gospel Mission =  Community Agape. 

Sense a pattern?  Monthly Potluck + Engaging or Educational Activity + Donation or Needs Drive for a different community beneficiary= Community Love, Good Food, Laughter, Inclusiveness, and Inner Peace....or Agape, for short.

Please spread the word!  The December Agape Project is:

A staged reading of "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens.  This 20 minute adaptation evokes the same important message about opening our hearts to those in need.  The beneficiary will be KISS (Kids In need of Supportive Services), like Tiny Tim!

When: Sunday, Dec. 10th

What: 11:30 am Community Meal followed by "A Christmas Carol" at 12:30 pm

Who:  KISS, Silver City Community Theatre, 1st Presbyterian Church, SCUCC, and all of you!

Where: Fellowship Hall at 1st Presbyterian, 1915 N. Swan St.

Why: Because Agape means Love, and Love is an Action!

Let's be done with the Bah Humbug, and on with the God Bless Us Everyone.

Yes, it is a combined potluck!  Thanks for catching that Sudzy.  My hope is that the KISS kids and families will come and enjoy the show and not feel discouraged if they can't contribute to potluck.  If there is a better way to encourage the community to come, I'm happy to make adjustments on the flyer.
