Also, there's a few of us interested in doing Winter Solstice
carolling in town on the Friday night, followed by a potluck dinner.
;D
I'm just looking for good Winter Solstice carols...
(Starting off with Reclaiming's "The Ocean is the beginning of the Earth...
We were supposed to be having a singing & chanting workshop/practice
at my house this weekend, but, there's been a double booking with
treeplanting at the grove. Hmmm, might see if everyone wants to do the
singing workshop *while* tree-planting?
Cheers,
Pearl.
We skimped on the carolling a bit, but we were quite busy what with:
planting out 100-150 trees, lunch, a small ceremony to mark our
intention that we would like part of the property we were at to be a
natural burial ground one day, and another wee ceremony to bury the
afterbirth of a grove member who had baby boy twins recently under a
new tree (the Maori words for 'earth' and 'placenta' are the same -
whenua. So we were returning the whenua to the whenua...).
Oh, and it was the first time we'd seen the babies too. Quite a few
clucky grove members, boys included. ;)
Fitting coincidence of ceremonies there - birth/death.
Ah, and also a follow-up sewing bee where I completed the hood for the
cloak I'm making for Winter Solstice.
Turns out I can sew. Huh, just requires spatial awareness of pattern
to material, cutting things with scissors, and operating a machine!
Hey, I can do that! ;D
Although, whoops, better finish it this weekend...
Although ouch, car accident? Hope nothing major, and that it all comes
right over the next couple of weeks.
Cheers,
Goiriath.
