Beta testing 'The Silent Way - a practical introduction' a NEW online course

Hi All

We’re beta testing a new online course called ‘The Silent Way - a practical introduction’.  The idea of the course is to organise and structure some of the material now available online to get people thinking about learning, teaching and some of the techniques we use in the Silent Way.

Piers and Ros already have experience of running courses online from the course ‘Teaching Pronunciation Differently’ that they ran for several years.  But this is the first time we’ve tried presenting the Silent Way itself in this format.  And it’s the first time we’ve tried this particular platform for online courses.  We’ve a string of ideas for other courses to follow this one!

So we need you to try the course and give us feedback both about the content and the technology!

I tried to look at Protected: Learning a language with the Silent Way  and I was asked to enter a password. What's the password for the course?

Thanks for your message.  That course ‘Learning a language with the Silent Way’ is an experiment that Cédric and I are trying out and needs a bit more work.  The audience for that course would be students just starting learning a language with a Silent Way teacher.  The idea would be to answer some of the questions they might have and help them get the best out of their experience.

We’ve written a first draft but we’re still tossing ideas around about whether this is the best way to help etc.  

Can I get back to you when Cédric and I have had a further conversation?
