When updating to a new release, do you recomend uninstall of older
versions first?

No, that's not cecessary, as the Install button in the Istall Silas file
that opens runs a macro that compares your existing version with the new
version and decides what to do.

You do not need to uninstall an older version of Silas before updating to a new one. The Install routine will save your old Silas.dot & other settings files, adding a date and time to the filenames, into the subfolder \old versions.

The one thing to be careful of is to make sure all Word windows are closed before you run the Install program.

When "Install Silas.doc" opens, click on the "Install" button there. If nothing happens, you'll need to:

1. Change your Macro Security setting to "Medium."
2. Close down Word again (all windows/documents).
3. Open "Install Silas" again from StartMenu--Silas.
4. Click on the "Install" button again.

Several people have reported error messages like: "Error trying to copy toolbar/macro project..."

This error can happen, we think, if you run the "Install" button macro twice without closing down Word in between, or if another doc is open in Word.
If you see this error message, please do steps 2-4 above again. If it still doesn't work, please give us as many details as possible about which Build of Silas you're installing, which version of Word you have, the exact wording of the error message and what steps you took to get there.

Thanks much!
