Hi John,
This is not a feature that SILAS provides, but because SILAS is just a
Word template, you can use features that Word provides to do it.
I asked google how to do this, and found several articles that give
the details. Here's what you do.
1. Change the Word View to Normal.
(In most versions of Word, hold down the Alt key and type VN, but in
Word 2007, tap the Alt key then type WE.)
2. View the footnotes, by holding down the Alt key and typing VF.
3. A new window pane will open below the text pane, showing the
footnotes. It will have a dropdown list at the top. Click the pull-
down arrow-head at the right and select Footnote Separator.
4. The cursor should be blinking at the left of the line that marks
the gap between text and footnotes. Hold down the Shift key and hit
the right-arrow key to select the line, then hit the Delete key to
delete it.
5. Now open the Borders and Shading dialog, by holding down the Alt
key and typing OB.
6. Select the kind of line you would like, and click the button to put
a line across the bottom of the paragraph, and hit Enter to OK.
7. Change Word's view back to Page Layout or Print Layout.
(In most versions of Word, hold down the Alt key and type VP, while in
Word 2007, tap the Alt key they type WP.)
8. To be safe, you might also like to change the Footnote Continuation
Separator, which is used when a footnote has to run over onto the next
page.
